John Miller
Organist/Traditional Service Music Director
John was born and raised in Montevideo, Minnesota, and started his music ministry playing for the church he grew up in, the First Congregational Church UCC of Montevideo, when he was 10 years old. Since then, he has also been the organist/pianist for the United Methodist Church of Montevideo and United in Christ Lutheran Lutheran Church in Eveleth, Minnesota. Most recently, he was the music director at First Congregational UCC of Dodge Center, where he played for services and directed the adult choir and children’s chime choir.
Currently, John is a music teacher for the Triton Public Schools, teaching elementary and middle-school band, a section of choir, and several general music classes. In addition, he teaches private piano lessons to a small group of young people, and is a frequent accompanist for chapel services at Samaritan Bethany.
John graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead. He has previously taught in Eureka, South Dakota, and Mountain Iron, Minnesota. He currently lives in Kasson, and in his spare time is an avid reader, a computer hobbyist, loves to travel, and enjoys home improvement projects.
